Windows of the Louvre

Paris, France

Photographed at night, this image contrasts the windows of the magnificent, baroque-style Palais du Louvre, originally built as a fortress in 1190, and reconstructed as a royal palace in the late 1500's, with the modern glass structure of the Louvre pyramid, designed by I.M. Pei and completed in 1989.
