Archives: Landscape: Patagonia

Patagonia is a vast region shared between Chile and Argentina at the southern end of South America.  It is a land of mountains (the Andes), lakes, plains, fjords and some of the largest glaciers in the world (which together form the Southern Patagonia Ice Field).  These images are from a 10 day visit to the two most significant national parks in the Patagonian region:  Torres del Paine, in Chilean Patagonia, and Los Glaciares National Park in the Argentine territory.  We visited in April -- late fall in the Southern Hemisphere.  Torres del Paine includes the three granite peaks of the Paine Massif, the Grey Glacier, and lots of wind!  Los Glaciares, in Argentina, is known for the Perito Moreno Glacier, and the peaks of Mount Fitz Roy and Cerro Torre.  The entire Patagonia region is stunning in its beauty ... it is a rugged, thinly populated region with towering snow-covered peaks, crystal clear turquoise lakes, and the largest glaciers outside of Antarctica, Iceland and Norway.

Fine art prints, in various sizes and surfaces, are available for all of the images in this gallery. Simply click on images to view, and options to order can be found below each photograph. Thanks.
