These photographs were made on the island of Antigua, one of the Leeward Islands in the Caribbean with a population of about 100,000. Antigua is part of the country of Antigua and Barbuda, which gained its independence in 1981. The island is a jewel of the Caribbean, ringed by coral reefs and sandy beaches. It has a rich history, rooted in sugar plantations, but today the Antiguan economy is heavily dependent on tourism. It has numerous well-known sites, including Nelson's Dockyard in English Harbor. The images in this collection highlight various aspects of island life.
Fine art prints, in various sizes and surfaces, are available for all of the images in this gallery. Simply click on images to view, and options to order can be found below each photograph. Thanks.
